#42 - Kneeling Lat Pull Down

Purpose:

Strengthen the middle back and shoulder blade muscles (latissimus dorsi, middle & lower trapezius).

Where to Feel it:

In between your shoulder blades and middle of back.

Description:

  • Wrap the exercise tubing around the top hinge of a door.
  • Kneel on the ground and lean back slightly.
  • Maintain “Spinal Ready Position" (#104), if you have been instructed to do so.
  • Pull down on the tubing slowly, with arms straight, from overhead to down at your sides.
  • Pause at the bottom for several seconds, and then slowly allow the arms to move back up overhead.
  • Maintain neutral shoulder blade position (keep them down and back) throughout the exercise.
  • Remember to always keep breathing!
