Purpose:
Relax pterygoid muscle to decrease pain, tension, and stiffness, and improve biomechanics of the TMJ.
Where to Feel it:
Gentle stretch around your jaw.
Description:
- Press your fingers against your chin.
- On an inhale, protrude your jaw lightly (only 10% of your effort) into the resistance of your fingers, which will keep your jaw from actually moving forward.
- On the exhale, relax the jaw and let it retract back.
- Remember to always keep breathing!
