Kynise “Ky” Slay is and always has been a person who wants to help others in any way possible. She turned to wellness when her best friend tore her ACL. Ky accompanied her friend to her physical therapy sessions, and assisted with her therapy and recovery. Shortly thereafter, Ky applied to Bradley University and graduated with her B.S. in Health Sciences in 2011. Soon after college, she attended Cortiva Institute and graduated Valedictorian of the massage therapy program in 2013. Following graduation, Ky has been focused on expanding and perfecting her massage therapy skills through deepening her knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology, and attending postgraduate continuing education seminars. She has extensive experience in Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point, active and static cupping, prenatal massage and kinesiotaping. She has great success in treating patients with back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, headaches, migraines, sciatic pain, fibromyalgia, as well as patients with women’s health issues.
Ky determines the root cause(s) of her patients’ problems by actively listening and thoroughly assessing the patient’s musculature and biomechanics. She then custom-tailors her treatments to meet each patient’s individual needs. She also provides each client with a treatment and self care plan to use in between appointments so they can achieve faster pain relief and optimal health more rapidly and permanently.
In addition to massage therapy, Ky spends a lot of her time working out and playing with her two dogs, Frankie and Snickers. Spending time with her fiancé going to museums, movies, and searching for the next adventure life holds is her favorite thing to do!
