TRAVEL MEDICINE WITHOUT SIDE-EFFECTS

Whether you choose to use homeopathy and natural medicine exclusively, or in conjunction with conventional medicine, Dr. Ezgur will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan in order to help to boost your immune system and reduce your susceptibility to developing a variety of travel-related illness, including traveler’s diarrhea.

When traveling to third world countries, or places where the risk of travel-related infection is high, Dr. Ezgur recommends the following protocol. Take 1 dose (1 pellet, dissolved under the tongue) of the homeopathic remedy Arsenicum album 30C, every other day, beginning several days before travel, and continuing for several days after you return. If you have a history of being especially susceptible to traveler’s diarrhea, or if you just want additional protection, then you should also take a probiotic supplement daily. Both of these natural medicines can be obtained at our office, and shipping is also available.

This protocol is usually very effective in preventing traveler’s diarrhea, but if you do develop any symptoms (abdominal rumbling, bloating, cramping pain, diarrhea, etc.), take 1 dose of Arsenicum album 200C immediately, and continue taking the remedy every 10-30 minutes for the next 2 hours, until your symptoms improve. As your symptoms improve, continue taking the 200C (higher potency), gradually less often (as needed) until you are fully recovered. Once you are better, resume the every other day schedule of the 30C potency. If your symptoms do not improve, contact Dr. Ezgur or seek local medical attention right away.
