#29 - Forearm Supinator PIR

× WARNING!!! Please do not perform any of these exercises unless they have been prescribed to you by one of our doctors. When performed correctly, none of these exercises should cause any pain. If you experience any pain or discomfort during or after any exercise, stop immediately and let us know.

Purpose:

To stretch the pronator muscles of the forearm (the muscles that turn the forearm in towards the body), to decrease arm and wrist pain and improve range of motion.

Where to Feel it:

The underside surface of the forearm.

Description:

Grasp the “stretching wrist/arm" with the “opposite hand" and have the opposite hand gently turn the stretching wrist/arm outwards (supination) so that a gentle stretch with no pain is felt. To further stretch & relax the muscle, turn the stretching wrist/arm inwards into the “opposite hand" for 3-5 seconds while breathing in. The opposite hand should resist the inward pressure of the stretching hand, and prevent it from actually moving. Then relax, breathe out, and allow the stretching wrist/arm to relax and stretch a bit further out.

Reps:

3-5.
